Tridacna giant fossilised clams from Kenya

Beautiful petrified giant clams, ideal for planting or as an eye-catcher for your garden

The giant clams (Tridacninae) are a mussel subfamily, which are placed in the family of cockles (Cardiidae) and thus to the order Cardiida. The oldest representatives of the family come from the Ypresium (Eocene, Palaeogen).

The gigantic mussel shells are uncovered in Kenya by open-cast mining. Mostly from old limestone quarries.

We have a variety of different sizes, which are ideal as decorative objects for the garden. You can plant them or simply give your garden a special touch, e.g. directly next to the garden pond.
